The Sponsored Projects Office (SPO) at the Berkeley Campus is responsible for preparing, interpreting, negotiating, and accepting agreements for projects funded by federal and state agencies, foundations, corporations, and other public and private sources. SPO also prepares and negotiates all subawards for collaborative research. The Sponsored Projects Office, under the direction of Research Administration & Compliance (RAC), reports directly to the Vice Chancellor for Research.
The Administrative Assistant will work with the RAC Information System Group, and is an ideal job for any student who may be interested in learning about grant proposals, research funding, or pursuing a future career in research or information systems. The incumbent will be responsible for scanning and archiving proposals, protocols, and other documents; enter proposals and award data into Oracle and SQL Server databases; prepare computer generated and proposal distribution summaries; scan and distribute award & proposal documents electronically; set-up and maintain files, and extract data as needed. |
| Qualifications: |
Demonstrated data entry accuracy and ability. Experience with computerized record keeping systems and high-volume information processing. Must be able to work independently, interact with others, set priorities, meet deadlines, standards, and resolve discrepancies. Accuracy and attention to detail an absolute must. Demonstrated interpersonal and telephone skills required. |
